Don't let her age deceive you. Olivia, one of the top ten leaders on lookbook.nu, is creating a splash in the online fashion world. Soon to be graduating from high school, she has already been contacted by numerous companies for collaborative projects.
Where are you from?
I’m a Manila-born LA raised girl living in Orange County.
What do you do?
Right now I’m finishing off my senior year in high school, but as of what I do, I’m still in the process of figuring that out! Haha. I’ve tried my hand in everything from newspaper journalism, buyer internships and styling. Unofficially, I’m a hobby collector. Officially, I’m an opportunist.
How’d you get into fashion?
Early on I guess I’ve always had an “eye” for clothing. I’ve won “best dressed” from elementary to high school. But it was during the Myspace age that reps for LA brands began contacting me to model for their lookbooks.
My inspiration is more of my life aesthetic: European street style mixed with a cool, laid back, sun soaked California dreaming.
Viral I really love LaGarconne and Spanish Moss Vintage–in reality I’m a Barney’s, flea-market, Opening Ceremony, LF, and Goodwill type of girl. If that combination even makes sense. If all those stores all merged, what you would get is my closet.
What else do you enjoy besides fashion?
Mock Trial, print media, travel culture, road trips, stocking up on useless information, puppies, festivals, food porn, making lists, and being a dreamer.
What are your next steps? (next projects?)
Blogwise I’m in the process of merging my blog with Fashionsalade, a project headed by the director of Harrods and Skype. Life-wise I’m saving up for a 6-major city east coast trip. The rest is all in the hands of the future!
