neon blush is a refreshing journal that takes her native Californian flair on photogenic adventures. She spices up her grad-student lifestyle with gastronomic escapades, Laker games, and concerts, all while still rocking her personal style. She even takes us to this secret spot hidden in the backyard of Orange County; a product of her knack for exploring. Plus, did we mention she has a really cute dog?
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m a born and bred product of L.A. but at this very moment, I reside in the O.C. for school. I’ve dreams for traveling the world but I despise the feeling of turbulence and the hassle of going to/from airports, I’m a big Lakers fan and an even bigger foodie. I’m a simple girl.
How’d you get into fashion?
I’ve always been amused by the fashion magazines my sister would collect. She also would make me sew little articles of clothing for our barbies when we were younger and I guess I’ve just appreciated the fine art of designing and everything fashion thereafter. I’m the kind of person who pays a lot of attention to detail so naturally, I fell in love with exploring fashion and found that fashion entertains that personal quality of paying attention to deets.
I would say fashion blogs, but lately my time has been consumed mostly by school and work so I have to say I look to the colors I see outside my window, the music that suits my mood during the times I’m getting dressed, and/or the people I’m around and what they wear. When I do have time to browse online, I look at look books from Free People, Zara, J. Crew, Madewell, Nasty Gal, and WhoWhatWear.com. Over time, I always find myself attached to that eclectic, ‘street’ look embodied by L.A.
Goodwill, H&M, Forever 21, Free People, Asos, J. Crew, Madewell, Jeffrey Campbell, BCBG, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, Kensie, LF, Pixie Market, Nasty Gal, Threadsence. I don’t even want to get started on designers.
What else do you enjoy besides fashion?
Traveling, music, cooking, ice cream, photography, Disneyland, animals, movies…
What are your next steps?
In a couple of months, I’ll be heading back to L.A. for graduate school in Community Health Sciences. Fashion-wise, I hope to continue networking and maybe find a job or internship while attending school in L.A. As for the blog, I hope to merely keep it up and see myself ‘grow’ in my sense of style. I’m not new to the notion of blogging but I’ve never kept up with ONE blog for a long time so here’s to me attempting to ride it out and see where it takes me!
